For some stupid reason, I decided to stop drinking coffee yesterday. At some point I thought it might be cool to go without it for a month, I barely made it passed 10 A.M. The fact that I spend 40 hours a week in a coffee shop didn’t make matters any better.
Somehow, after copious amounts of chai, mate and misc. green teas I’ve made it two days!!
i got addicted to coffee when i worked in a coffee shop while in high school. i was pulling full time hours and drinking up to ten or more cups a day. it was ridiculous and my mom made me stop. these days there are so few comforts, a simple cup of coffee seems to somehow momentarily make everything seem ok, even though they aren’t. as sad as it might seem, it’s something to look forward to when i get up. i would miss coffee way too much to give up.
10 cups? holy crap ingrid, i’m so glad yr heart didn’t explode!
i immediately missed the morning ritual.. i don’t know how i’m gonna handle my saturday morning coffee and laundry routine without it.. we’ll see. i did make a beautiful smoothie this morning instead consisting of spinach, oats, honey, yogurt, soy milk, walnuts and a bit of cinnamon. it was insane.
jesus, i don’t even have the energy to make coffee (i admit i buy one everyday or get it at work) let alone that miraculous concoction you just described. that sounds wild.
